Iris albicans. Austin Texas March 2003.
Iris albicans surprised me this week.

Dug up the clump of Iris albicans by the birdbath and replanted the 13 largest rhizomes. They are very matted and small.

How do they do in cooler weather? I have some that my aunt is wanting up north.
I don’t know since I garden in Texas. Do any of you northern gardeners grow Iris albicans successfully? — mss

Do you know where one can buy the iris albicans? Scott Ogden writes that these are good for our area and I see quite a bit of information on this iris, but no source from which to buy. Would appreciate your input. Thank you. Lisa

I find quite a few iris albicans in abandoned lots throughout central Texas. If you are interested in buying some please E-Mail me. I also collect and sell other heirloom bulbs, i.e., oxbloods, narcissus, hippeastrum johnsonii. I’m sure you will find my pricing far less than SouthernBulbs. Although I respect what these guys are doing.
