“You could think of it as a kind of boot camp.”
“Sounds more like rehab.”
The difference between rehab and boot camp probably seems insignificant to the person suffering through them. For me, though, rehab smacks of endings. It’s the last stop on the road down the dark side, the place where you turn the corner into the light. In contrast, boot camp is all about beginnings. It’s about learning skills and abilities you didn’t know you had. It’s about finding the core of each individual and transforming them so that they know their own strengths. It’s about proving yourself to yourself.
On the other hand, I did talk about changing habits. And what does rehabilitate mean except to change habits? To stop old habit and, because we can’t live in a vacuum without habits, to form new habits to replace them.
