Looks abandoned and, thus, appropriately creepy. However, this is just a fiction of framing my subject to convey a feeling. The spot was actually packed with tourists.
It turns out to be the burial place of David Hume. I probably stopped at his grave when I was there, but I had completely forgotten that fact until I was researching the photo. Of course, it’s also likely I was in a mental (as well as literal) fog and wandering about unaware. Our sightseeing often takes on this quality; it’s only later that I learn about the sights I missed, sometimes by only a few yards.
